Welcome to Romania!
We pick you up from the airport and drive to the beautiful city of Bucharest where we get accommodated. We spend a relaxing evening during which we have the pleasure to meet you and invite you to our welcome dinner. For the guests arriving during the morning hours, we can organize a little tour of the stylish city of Bucharest, and we can visit, among other things, the House of People built during and under the lead of Nicolae Ceausescu, the second largest building in the world after the American Pentagon. During dinner, we discuss the details of the beautiful adventure awaiting in wonderful Romania!

After breakfast we will start the journey. Our destination for this day is the mountain area called Prahova Valley. This is one of the most important touristic area in Romania. We will stop in Busteni resort , a place from where we can see the imposing and majestic Caraiman Peak. After a pleasant walk to the forest, we will go to Predeal to visit a famous restaurant called The Hunter Place. Among many special culinar dishes you can try the famous bear meet with a perfect red wine!
From Sinaia we drive another 45 km deep in mountains on a very beautiful road named Transbucegi, going through the Bucegi Natural Park. We go up to 1600 m and, among other wonders, we will visit one of the most famous caves in Romania, Ialomicioara Cave. Transbucegi is one of the most scenic drives in Romania.
During this day we will pass the Bicaz gorge, DN12C national road, located in the Eastern Carpathians of Romania. The Bicaz Gorges are without any doubt one of the most breathtaking natural attractions in Romania. The gorge has the local name of Cheile Bicazului . This scenic drive is spectacular with sheer cliffs rising literally from the edges of the road. The road inside this canyon looks like serpentine windings. Also, along these walls we can see some amazing caves like The Black Cave or The Waterfall Cave. On top of mountain we will find the Red Lake, the largest natural mountain lake in Romania. Its name is coming from the reddish alluvia (iron oxides and iron hydroxides) deposited in the lake by the Red Creek.
During this day we will go to Pojorata, a genuine Romanian village located deep in mountains and we will take lunch with a Romanian family, in their guests house. The lady of the house will cook for us traditional Romanian bio food. Since we will try some very good Romanian wine, we will park our cars and we will have a relaxing evening full of Romanian authentic food, wine and music. We will share unique moments and feel the beautiful simplicity of life.
Transrarau – the most spectacular mountain road from Bucovina, one of the most important tourist attractions in the area that really cuts your breath. The road reaches up to an altitude of 1400 meters and facilitates access to Rarau Chalet and famous nature monuments called „Lady Rocks”. The Treasures’Road is said to be the third most beautiful alpine road in Romania. Of course, here are many excellent photo opportunities .
During this day, after a perfect ride on mountain roads, we will visit a special hotel with a fantastic view, called Castel Dracula. We have some surprises for you on this Castle and also we will have a special lunch.
Salina Turda, located in Turda, Romania, is home to an underground theme park that’s nestled inside one of the oldest salt mines in the world. Salina Turda from is around 400-feet deep.
Salt extraction at Salina Turda began during the medieval period, and continued up until the beginning of the 20th century. It was closed for some years, before being re-used during the Second World War, though not for the purpose of mining salt. The Salina Turda continued to be used in the following decades, though it was during the 1990s that the mine underwent its greatest transformation yet. Unlike many historical sites, which are usually turned into museums, the Salina Turda is today not only a museum of salt mining, but is also a subterranean theme park that is known not only in Romania, but also outside of that country.
Sighisoara, one of the few medieval fortresses that are still inhabited, also registered in the World Heritage of UNESCO. The medieval fortress of Sighisoara is historically related to Vlad Tepes’ father, Vlad Dracul, who lived in this fortress.
We have a rest in the beautiful city of Sibiu, a bohemian atmosphere behind medieval walls. Noble Saxon history breathes from every art nouveau façade and gold-embossed church. Renowned composers such as Strauss, Brahms and Liszt played here during the 19th century, and Sibiu has been in the forefront of the Romanian cultural background through its festivals of opera, theatre and film, as well as rock, jazz and more. Sibiu, known in German as Hermannstadt, has always been the centre of the German minority in Romania since medieval times. Also during this day, we will visit a fairytale land hidden in the mountains of Transylvania, the Clay Castle of the Valley of Fairies. We end the day with a delicious traditional Romanian dinner.
We start our day with a rich breakfast since we have a 1480-step climb ahead of us!
Our trip continue with the most famous road in Europe: TRANSFAGARASAN called by Top Gear’s Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May “the most amazing road we have ever seen!” On the mountaintop, we have the opportunity to admire the crystal green water of Lake Balea. Then we will stop to majestic Vidraru Dam and we will take a boat for some relaxing moments on the green water.
And if we still have time we will climb 1480 steps to visit the fortress of Poenari, supposedly Vlad Tepes’ s hideaway from the Turks. The legend says that Vlad Tepes, chased by the Turks, got away by hiding in this fortress after shoeing his horses backwards, confusing his attackers. The height of the fortress offers a view of Cheile Argesului, Vidraru Dam and Fagaras Mountains.
We continue our adventure to the town of Curtea de Arges where we spend the night.
The town of Arges, with its special air, full of history and mystery, the first capital of the Romanian Country, is part of legends and sayings, including the most famous of all, the Legend of Manole. Arges is one of the oldest settlements in Romania, offering tourists an unique view, holiness, preserved old buildings, small streets and inviting terraces.
Transalpina road is the highest road in Romania. It is one of the famous Romanian high altitude roads. With a length of 146 km, it goes through the Carpathians, reaching a maximum altitude of 2,145m above sea level in Pasul Urdele. Transalpina is the best road in Romania for riding a motorcycle, with spectacular curves, amazing landscapes, very pure air. The pleasure to ride on this road is limitless! We will make a stop in Ranca resort, on top of mountain, to have a peacefull lunch and to enjoy the view.
Olanesti, the resort town helping you recover your inner balance and health with its therapeutic waters from the mineral springs located on shadowy alleys.
We accommodate you in a beautiful family lodge located in a forest, near a mountain stream.
After lunch, we go to Comanca – God’s village in the middle of Mount Valcii, an entrance to the past, a village with only 10 people, on a road through forests where only off-road cars can penetrate. Time stands still here, nothing from the modern ages has touched this place, and the simplicity of life reaches its purest form. Find yourself in the heart of the countryside. Rediscover what it means to be the most welcomed guest! To get there, we cross the beautiful National Park of Valcea, Buila-Vanturita, mesmerized by the unique scent of the Carpathians.
After a beautiful adventure in Romania, after making new friends and connections, this is the day when we drive you to the airport. We hope that you leave a little nostalgic, yet happy, because this is what makes us happy. We look forward to having you back!
Have a safe trip back home!
